I recently had a friend discuss my blog. She said I was being too hard on those of certain faiths, and that was the reason many countries had blocked my articles from even reaching the internet in their country. I had written about the facts of a philosophical world takeover, with my opinion based on news from around the world.
"I was being too angry and biased," she said. I should love my fellow man regardless of what they believe. So, I sat down with a cup of coffee in my hand and a hot tea in hers. And we read the articles she pointed out. With critiques and remarks to improve my thinking.
I listened as the wheels in my brain turned while she spoke and thoughtfully explained, pointing out the barbs in my wording. I agreed that I had been pointed and speaking from a single point of reference. I had that point of reference squarely in mind as I listened. She spoke from a point that I always found to be a gentle soul's thinking. Every person has the right to think and believe as they wish. I have always respected that idea. It's the core of the American way of thinking. It's called freedom. It is still freedom if your comfortable with the life you are living according to what you strive for. Freedom is not have every point of your life administrated according to another power who can threaten
We sat and discussed the error of my ways for quite a while, sharing how tough I had been on people I had not even met. People I would never have the opportunity to speak or discuss my opinion with. Tho I could feel my personal thermostat was nearing the point of boiling over, I took a breath and listened for the better part of an hour.
She was saying that the laws in other countries were different, and it would never affect the place we live. Americans had their way, and the other countries had theirs. I had formulated a plan as I listened to better explain my apparent written global treachery. So I began to have my AI in my computer pull up the articles of stonings for askew clothes. child marriages and at least a hundred other such incidents worldwide. And I did point out that these were official postings by responsible sources.
She countered with the population of the world and the number of incidents I had, which are only the reported ones. Closed societies hide their actions to boost recruiting new members. Bad publicity, you know. She read many of the articles, noting the sources. It got very quiet as we sipped our drinks.
She raised her head and asked, "Why do you dwell on this if it does not affect you?" I feel very bad for those who are having this done to them, but they could leave if it bothered them that much. I smiled at my lovely, naive friend. My articles then went on to point out the laws that different versions of this religion enforced and the fact that education was not allowed for women. The fact that in that society, my loved ones and she would have no rights under that law and no property unless they were married.
I jokingly ask her if she would live under that law for only 3 months. She looked at me with a stern face. I don't have to do that; it's not my belief. I don't have to worry about it. My AI heard the discussion and pulled up the mass rapes and killing of women who did not share the Taliban's beliefs. when they were raging throughout other countries. It mentioned the Gaza wall coming down and the atrocities afterwards on women, infants, and anyone unfortunate enough to encounter humans turned demonic.
She finished her tea, and I finished my coffee. She rose and said she had started her day in a different frame of mind. I said, "You did ask me, and I always try to be honest. I was brought up on a street with 3boys and 20 females of different ages. My ideas of people were formed in unique and respectful ways of seeing females as a rarely heard voice of power. To use people, male, female, or any of the imagined versions. I don't have to agree with you to see you as a human being first.
But the point of our conversation was the fact that people, regardless of who or what they are, should universally have a right to choose their own freedom. No one on this Earth, or wherever humans wander in the future, should fear a few imams, priests, or anyone else who would threaten them with torture or death for wanting freedom to life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It should be at the core of our human existence, anywhere.
The lady stopped and turned to face me a few feet from the door. Some of those people would not know any other way if they were in a closed society and a philosophy was drummed into them from birth. It would instill the usual fears and threats of any other religion or philosophy. Don't you think?
This is why I enjoy my coffee times with people like her. There's a thinking brain behind all that sweetness. She caught me off guard and speechless. She continued by saying, "I would never try to change your values; just be careful of how you express them if this is the world you envision." I wouldn't live there either, but many of them would. It's comfortable, and it's what they grew up with. People make their own destiny. It's your quote that I often hear you quietly say to yourself when you see a person doing something they know is stupid: "There's no fate but what you make."
She hugged me, walked to her car, and drove away. I watched her walk to the car in jeans and a pullover top, long, perfect hair blowing in the gentle breeze of the morning. A smile and a wave as she got in and drove away.
A tear rolled down my cheek from the painful thought that pierced through my mind. It pictured her never being able to express her thoughts, or seeing her hair in the wind, or seeing her being able to look as she does, driving away free, and being able to go about her life as we do in the Western world. trussed up in total coverings because men blamed her for the lack of their own primal control.
That makes as much sense as killing a crop of flowers for growing to be beautiful. But this is a world that will flux and change as time passes. Perhaps it is our destiny to go down fighting from divisions contrived by religious leaders driven by dogma and control. If and when we get to space on the moon or beyond. I truly hope it becomes a no-doctrine area. Maybe based on the basic laws that a majority of beliefs (not religions) can agree on. Leave the dogmas and indoctrinations back on Earth to fight out Armageddon. Which will prove nothing with the world in a grave.
As for my own thoughts on this, I will endeavor to connect my writings with other articles that may provide you with... What is the bling word these days? DiVeRsItY? Sorry, I am not quite sure how that would look yet. Have to work on it.... Yup, have to give it some thought....yup gonna get right on it....🙈🙉🙊😶
Till next time, ladies, gentlemen, and children of all ages, may God bless you, no matter who or what you think God is. Just pray for peace in this world from all the possible angles that point to the same spiritual ears.
Till next time children;{)
