I took pictures of the tiger as I had never seen them that close before.I was under the impression they were raised for zoo's and preserves from what I was told. The truckstop had a place to park for the night and it was spookie quiet that night. The next morning a young girl was waiting counter and cashing up the customers.I ask why the tiger was so quiet,Tigers normaly can be heard to roar for miles. She said that she did not know.
I started to walk to my vehicle and stopped at Tonys cage to once again see this majestic creature. He was looking sad and got up from his concrete floor and went into the tiny shack that was in the cage.A man suddenly spoke up behind me and scared the bajeebers out of me.Tigers sorta make me nervous even in a cage.It is a natural reaction to being looked at as a snack by a 500lb cat.
He told me the neighborhood had complained on the roaring many tigers ago,so they were all surgically muted so they coulsd not disturb the folks who lived around the area. They wer also nutured so the value to a zoo,ETC would pretty much asure no one would want to purchase the tigers.I guess this asured tigers would live out their dismal existance in the cage breathing diesel fumes and being abused by the ignorant who should have been place inside the cage with the nice "kitty" they were abusing.
You dear reader can take a stand on this matter to help the big cat Santuary to place Tony the Tiger into the custody of their care .They are experts dealing with Big Cats care. The U.S Senate is voting on this Tony Tiger deal today.I believe if you love animals and feel the need to take a moment the Big Cat Santuary needs help to free the tiger to a better life and deny any more caged surgicaly mutilated animals.Tigers need a huge area to actually live well.
Google the Big Cat Santuary,or Tiger Truckstop,or Tony The Tiger Vote in the senate.
The Bill is called SB250 and will grant the tigers to goto a shelter that will care for the cat who probably is going to need along term care after all these years.
